ABOUT ABOUT

Moxie Arts NY is thrilled to present the first performance of The Moxie Commission! Join us live on March 26th at 8pm ET, or stream on-demand through Monday, March 29th.

The Moxie Commission is a new program which takes our fourth season virtual! Moxie has commissioned three playwrights to each write three short plays over the course of 2021. We've assembled an incredible cohort of series directors and producers who will work with each writer over the course of the program. Moxie will present one play from each writer at the end of March, the end of May, and the end of July, for a total of three performances featuring nine world-premieres!

Thousands of miles apart, a high schooler in the foster care system and a dying nursing home patient participate in a virtual Adopt-A-Grandparent program. Through learning and unlearning each other in the midst of searching for a sense of belonging, they journey towards building an unlikely friendship that tests their generational gap.

Don't Leave Me at the Front Door

In early 2008, two teens find each other in an Omegle chat room. Over the course of three meetings, they learn about each other's TV obsessions, illegal streaming, and the dangers of the Internet.

Good Mourning

Based on a tweet by @NightValeRadio, in an alternate parallel reality, humans are randomly assigned to mourn the death of ungrieved strangers. When Jenn Yang is tasked with the mourning of Wong Bo Jing, she thinks it’ll be a breeze. Nothing could be further from the truth.
